Stock Rubicon tires rock in the snow
#2
The km2 were great in the deep snow but when it came to the packed roads they were not that great. I hate to say it but I drove my 07 Z71 all day because it was definitely better and smoother on the road.
But I did enjoy the Jeep

I have had a couple of opportunities to drive my 09 rubicon in different snow conditions (deep unpacked to rutted hard pack) and I am very happy with the tire performance.

I thought the KM2's were great too. Until I used the Good Year MT\R Kevlar's on the snow & ice. Good Years are without a doubt the BEST snow & ice tire I have ever used.. Simply Amazing....

its all relative. yes, a bfg mt will be better than an all season but they really do not perform to the same standard that a siped, soft compound snow tire can perform to. I have had BFGMTs, BFGATs, Firestone Winterforce, Bridgestone Blizzaks, and Nokian Haakepellita's, and the traction increased in the order I listed them. Just my opinion, they all go pretty well, but nothing stopped like the Nokians. Disadvantace is a true snow tire is going to perform as poorly in the mud as an all season. I'm going to give the DuraTracs a shot. They seem to have both bases covered.
