Yeah, and do a youtube search. There's plenty of professionally produced videos on there showing how to change clutches, remove & rebuild trannys & motors, etc. Even if you cant find one specifically for the Chrysler 3.8L V6 I'm sure there's a few for the GM 3.8L V6 which is very similar in design to the Chrysler one (old-school design of iron block, pushrod, 60 degree layout, etc) and will at least give you a visualization of what you'll be doing.

Of course as others have said, back this up with plenty of reading & research first. The only thing you won't be able to do at home (unless you have a machine shop in your garage) is to hone the block & resurface the heads, but you can get this done cheaply enough at a specialist shop. Most of what you pay for on a rebuild is the labor for what is for the most part simple but tedious work so the more you can do yourself the better.

Reviving an old thread here...maybe. My motor just went out. Well at least I think it did. It sounds like there's a monkey inside beating on the cylinder wall with a hammer. Anyway, I am USAF and stationed overseas therefore don't have as many options as I would if I were stateside. I was wondering if anyone has any more info on that Hesco kit? I really want to see some #s on it. I would think that they would post them if they truly were as good as they claim. I'm hoping that I just have to rebuild the bottom half but all the research I have done tells me that I might as well do it all. (Something about piston rings being put on upside down at the assembly plant in Mexico) One would think that Jeep would step up and take care of the customer but I don't see anything coming out of them in the form of announcements. Anyone, anyone, Bueller, Bueller????
