stock 255 tires on wider after market wheels.

stock 255 tires on wider after market wheels.
I have a 2009 4 door X that came with the rubicon wheel and tire package. I recently put on new 17x9 wheels on and had the stock tires remounted on them. Now they ride like dirt bike knobby tires. Are the new rims to wide. Anyone else had this happen or thoughts on it?

Recommended wheel width for a 255 tire is 6.5" to 8.5". I put 255's on a 8" rim and the tire center needed two guy to fill and seal. I'm surprise you even got them on a 9".
