Question Stock 2018 JKU Rubicon Recon Brakes

Does anyone know if the Rubicon or the R-Recon edition has bigger brakes than the other models? Went searching for SS Lines and Upgrades and found two sizes.

Was foolish enough to think the towing package gave you heavy duty cooling, trans cooling and heavy duty (larger) brakes as it did on my old Chrysler products

Since 2012, all jk and Jku automatics have trans coolers as standard. I am not aware of any cooling options available. I also am not aware of any optional factory brakes being available in the United States.

The different lengths of SS brake lines you're seeing may be the standard, and then the newer version that is longer because it attaches to the spring perch.

It's not like they added a trans cooler in 2012. They improved the trans cooler in 2012.

I thought that prior to 2012, an external trans cooler was an optional add on and that starting with the 2012 model it became standard.

The standard pre-2012 cooler is built ino the lower part of the A/C condenser. It's too small, and is not in the direct airflow that comes through the grill.

Ok, so pre-2012 if you wanted better cooling you would add a cooler that was in addition to the too small built in one?

Yes. Tap into the OEM cooler lines so the fluid leaves the OEM cooler, goes through the added cooler, then returns to the transmission.

On some forums I read that Jkus that are exported to Europe get bigger brakes. I don't have proof, but that's what "they say".
