Default Steering problem

Hey guys,

I got an issue and hopefully someone can help me out, went off-roading today and while transiting to the next trail and I went to turn and it needed alot of effort, like all my weight!! Kinda scary, but after taking a look at the steering pump it seemed to be fine and I also power washed everything of mud but still having the problem. Here is the kicker...Driving more than 5 MPH and this isnt really an issue, but starting up and pulling while turning or trying to pull into a parking spot at a slow speed is when this problem is very obvious. any ideas before I take it in?? Thanks in advance!! Oh and I am running a TF 2.5 Coil kit with shocks with 35X13.5 Cooper STTs...

Not that well versed with my jeep yet, would something underneath be the cause of this though? Thanks for your input.

Check your steering stabilizer and make sure it hasn't shifted.

Sounds like your power steering pump isn't doing it's job. It being easier to turn when movie faster and harder when slower or sitting still sounds like manual steering. Check for leaks and check your fluid level. Worth a shot

Take the front wheels off the ground, make sure it all turns smooth

Took a look there, and there was plenty of fluid and no leaks. If the SS shifted, would I be able to fix it? I know people that have driven without a SS, with no problems..just wondering.

Do as goody said and jack your frt end up and cycle the steering and see where it's stopping, if it is the stabilizer, its just a couple u-bolts to loosen and reposition.

You could leave it on the ground and see if when you turn the wheel till it stops if the stabilizer rod is bottoming on the shock can. If it did shift, chances are you'll see the marks where it was.
