just wondering... a guy asked me what it was today and i didn't know what to tell him, so i just said it creates a vortex around the tire and helps gas mileage.

is it opposite the valve stem? if so it may be a weight to offset any additional material required to make the valvestem surround.

you got me.

it's kinda opposite the valve stem, but since it's a 5-spoke wheel, not exactly.

I am going to guess that its either a tire pressure sensor or a weight for balancing the wheel. It could also be a tracking device planted by Big Brother... however; I think that it might be the same answer as: "how many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Tootsie
Pop?" The world will never know.

"IT'S THE FITZER VALVE. We need some 30W motor oil, gauze pads ...and ball-bearings. It's all ball-bearings these days."
