This is the exact one I have. I went from having no problems with many stations, to barely picking up very local stations.

But I don't use AM/FM almost ever so for me it was more an issue of knocking against my KC's as to why I replaced it.
If you want to still have good signal, do not expect it with this antennae

Food for thought...

Stock antenna is only 1-2" taller than the hightest point on soft tops. Serves as a great indicator to be aware of clearance on lifted Jeeps in parking garages, etc.

Ran a 13" stubby but was never pleased with the reception or lack of. So I painted my stock antenna black but should've used shrink wrap tubing. The black paint degrades some reception but still not as bad as the stubby. The height of the antenna is a sort of "curb feeler" for tree branches. If it touches a branch, get out and see if that brach will snag your top. So you could trim the antenna or place a $1 antenna ball to keep the finish on the garage door.

One added suggestion. If you only need a small amount of clearance (1 inch) just give the very top a 45 degree bend rearward.

I have a 8" stubby antenna, reception isn't bad, but a noticeable decrease for sure

I bought the CB style antenna that Quadratec offers and it is awesome. Great reception and I live in a mountainous. It also looks great on the Jeep
