I'm looking for a decent stubby radio antenna that will still get a good signal (if that possible). My original antenna hits the garage door when I pull in after the lift.

Not sure on a good stubby but i would just cut off an inch or 2 to clear the garage, then put a little cap on the tip to replace the ball end so you will avoid the sharp cut end.

Try one of the longer antennaX's that are available. I chopped mine to fit under my windshield lights and am happy with the reception, before I cut it, it had the same reception as the stock antenna did.

I replaced mine shortly after I bought the vehicle. Regretted it immediately. It's fine in the immediate Bay Area, but but not worth a hoot for receiving AM if you travel away from the bay.

I just installed this 13 inch antenna from Amazon. It seems to do a great job thus far.

I have had no luck with stubby antennas. I even replaced my stock one wuth one that was a couple inches shorter to no avail.
It seems they have to. Clear the top like the stock one. I did get a black one that was the same length as stock. Works fine.
