Squeaky brake pedal?
#12
Hey Boost, did you try twisting the boot that goes over the booster plunger? Mine started making noise even worse today. Between the squeak in the pedal and the tailgate rattle, my JK sounds like a bucket of loose bolts. LOL!
I twisted the boot tonight and that got rid of the pedal squaek for now. I'm trying some black tape around the tailgate striker to see if that helps the gate rattle.

Hi Boost,
You don't want to twist the boot too much. Just grip the boot like it was a microphone and twist it left and right about a half inch in both directions. I also pushed up and pulled down on the base of the booster with moderate force to kinda flex the input plunger and voila, the noise was gone. This is a temporary fix unfortunately.
Hi Zeppo,
I will try the latch adjustment as well. My initial idea with the tape is to see if I can isolate the noise to the latch. I'm pretty sure your solution will work. Thanks for the tip.

Hi Guys,
I decided to spray some silicone lube behind the rubber dust boot that covers the booster plunger and I'm happy to report that this seems to do the trick. No more noise. Hopefully it lasts.
As for the tailgate, adjusting the striker slightly forward has almost completely eliminated the clunk/rattle. I may do some more adjusting but for now, it's way better. I also sprayed some silicone on a rag and wiped down the weather strips around the hard top rear glass and tailgate opening.
