I twisted the boot tonight and that got rid of the pedal squaek for now. I'm trying some black tape around the tailgate striker to see if that helps the gate rattle.

If the tailgate rattle is because of a poorly latching gate you should be able to adjust the position of the striker plate ever so slightly so the latch gets a better bite on it and latches securely. Much like making sure you get the striker plate on a regular old door in the perfect spot on the jamb so the door is actually shut tight and doesn't wiggle around when closed.

Hi Boost,

You don't want to twist the boot too much. Just grip the boot like it was a microphone and twist it left and right about a half inch in both directions. I also pushed up and pulled down on the base of the booster with moderate force to kinda flex the input plunger and voila, the noise was gone. This is a temporary fix unfortunately.

Hi Zeppo,

I will try the latch adjustment as well. My initial idea with the tape is to see if I can isolate the noise to the latch. I'm pretty sure your solution will work. Thanks for the tip.

Hi Guys,

I decided to spray some silicone lube behind the rubber dust boot that covers the booster plunger and I'm happy to report that this seems to do the trick. No more noise. Hopefully it lasts.

As for the tailgate, adjusting the striker slightly forward has almost completely eliminated the clunk/rattle. I may do some more adjusting but for now, it's way better. I also sprayed some silicone on a rag and wiped down the weather strips around the hard top rear glass and tailgate opening.

One shot of WD40 where the pedal attaches to the booster.

Boost,

I take it from your post that you fixed the noise. I'm still running noise free and very happy.
