Default Spare Key Cost?

Years ago, my wife lost my 2nd key to my JK. I'm going to probably break down and prepare to be violated and buy a new one from the dealer. Anyone know what to expect in terms of cost? Are there any other options, since I only have 1 working key?

Go ahead and hit me with the bad news. I can take it. (Barely.)

Anyone know anything about this outfit? They appear to claim to be able to provide a replacement without the need for the 2nd key, for under $100 bucks. I'd love it if that's true.

I bought one On Amazon for like 28 or 30 bucks and had it coded at the dealership for 65. I simply searched for the key that was said to be a jeep/jku replacement that looked the same. The $30 risk paid off.

I spent 13$ in Amazon and got the blanks with chips.

I got them cut at Home Depot for free haha.

I only have one key unfortunately haven't went to get them coded/programmed yet.

Many hardware stores can make the chip-in-the-key spares and get them programmed properly for $30-50, using your other stock key. I had mine done at an Ace Hardware.

The dealer here wanted $250 for one. I just got one off of Amazon for $45 and $1.50 to have cut at hardware store and I programed it myself It works great it takes a
whole minute to do.

But you need two keys to do this correct?
