Default Softtop vs. Hardtop

I am being offered to trade my soft top for a hard top. The guy wants to swap it. What one is better and why? Please give me ur opinions and experiences with ur tops and if I should ultimately trade the soft for the hard top. Please help me decide.

You'll regret it on those nice summer days!
All Jeeps should be required to have a soft top.

soft top = $700
Hard top = $1500

Watching a guy slice his rear side window on a rock overhang.....cheap replacement

Watching a guy drag his hard top on a tree and tear it to pieces....priceless

Literally! priceless, ouch

sounds like a win for you. the best top trek top nx is set to start shipping soon and i think they got about $650. a hard top is worth around 1000-1500. id trade and buy a trek top for the summer.

I just have the soft top. I don't have the room to store the hard top and it would be a pain to take on and off. I was originally concerned about security but it has not been an issue so far.

After having 3 Jeeps in the last 9 year that all had soft tops I'd LOVE a hard top.

I'm over the need to drop the top on a whim and just want some peace and quiet for once.

But that's just how I feel. I'd do the deal in a second.

I have two Jeeps, one with the hard top and the other with the soft top. Here is my 2 cents:

Wind noise: The hard top is MUCH better

Ease of removal: The soft top is Much better (The hard top requires a helper or a hoist)

Looks: The both look great.

Price: As already mentioned, the hard to will cost you more.
