I've been using those elastic straps for 2 years, but they've stretched and now the rolled up window blocks a lot of my rear-view. I've been unsuccesfull in looking for replacement straps, preferably that don't stretch or scratch. Now I'll give the 2 ideas listed here a try: Just drop the window inside the tailgate, or bring the rail up to the top and bungee somehow to the frame.

I at least unzip the sides of the rear window because I get a funny wind noise over the windshield if I don't allow some flow through the back.
