Default Soft Top Boot

Proud to say I picked up mine around Halloween, but first post. Live around Chicago, and dreaming about switching the roof to the Sunrider soft top in the spring. I have read that rolling up the windows increases the chances of scratches. Has anyone purchased Mopar's soft top boot yet? Wondering how it attaches, how well it works, and what type of protection do the bags that come with it give to the windows? Thanks.

Check out Bestop, the make window roll bags it divides the windows apart with soft material. If rolled correctly and store in the back you wont scratch your windows.

that boot should only cover the top when its down. I dont think the windows roll up in it..

Bestop is suppose to be ready the 15th of this month.

Not sure how they actually "store" the windows, but both the 2dr and the 4dr soft top boots list a compartment to store the windows.

82209911 Tops, Soft Top Boot Black, 2 Door, includes a special zippered pouch to store and protect the soft windows and is made of the same premium 3-ply fabric as the top. $175.00

82209912 Tops, Soft Top Boot Black, 4 Door, includes a special zippered pouch to store and protect the soft windows and is made of the same premium 3-ply fabric as the top. $175.00

Default Bestop Window Duffell

Bestop does in fact make one (now) for the JK. Below is Bestop's reply to my query:

The part number 42809 was made to only fit the TJ and YJ jeep
windows, the new part number is 42810 and was made wider to fit the windows
of the JK. This part number will fit your JK windows.

Thank You

I have one on order from 4WheelParts... hope to be receiving it this week.

Thanks everyone. Of course I might not have had to ask the question if Mopar's website had pictures to go along with their accessories. Some of their items are shown in the brochure I picked up at the dealership, but wouldn't you think posting pictures on their site would get them more sales?

Default Bestop Storage Duffel DISAPPOINTS

I drove out to 4Wheel Parts today to pick up my Bestop window storage. What a piece of junk. Fine, I suppose, were it less than, say $15, but $70??? NO THANKS.

It was a flat, rectangular piece of weatherproof nylon fabric that has a bunch of blue PAPER FIBER separaing inserts that go between the windows to (hopefully, marginally) keep them from scratching. The blue reminded me of the blue paper towels you get at the gas station to wash your windows. You then roll it up and secure it from unrolling with 2 web straps/buckles. Sounds fine, but trust me, its cheezy. I found it surprising coming from such a reputable company as Bestop.

One would be cash ahead if he were to buy one of those folding/collapsible $10 camping chairs, throw away the chair and just keep the tube duffel to house the windows that you've neatly and carefully rolled up into a couple or three bath or beach towels, or even sheets for that matter. Hmmm...??

My Soft Top boot from Mopar came in monday, however it's too cold to put the top down and try it.
it does come with 2 window rolls, but nothing to put inbetween the windows, I bought a piece of felt and cut it to the size of the window. Hopefully when it warms up I'll get to try it out.

I'm glad you saw the window storage bag. I don't see how you can roll the side windows up long ways. You can roll then the short way. The side windows have a plastic piece sewed in them at the door so rolling them the long ways isn't possible.

I too am looking for a way to store my softop windows & 1/2 door uppers in the Jeep without damage.

Mopar makes window storage bags. Both are listed for the 2007 model with the 2 door version having 5 separate compartments able to store (2) 1/2 door uppers, (2) rear quarters and (1) rear folded. The other is specific for the 4 door and is described as only storing windows & NOT 1/2 door uppers.

Another company with "clover" in the name will soon make a rollup bag with fabric dividers for window storage only.

Anybody with any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. In the past I had a trim shop make a stoage bag for my 1991 YJ. Worked very well but was $$$$$.
