So, is the cylinder head issue resolved with the 2013 models?

also note my dealer said they have three cherokee's and a 300 in right now getting new heads so the pentastar issue is throughout the fleet, not just wranglers

Quoted from Pentastar Engines: Repairs and Maintenance
"Any model year 2013 and newer car or Jeep or truck should have the new heads. A “Julian” build date of 2062 (the 206th day of 2012) stamped on the cylinder head shows that it is one of the newer types. The part numbers of the new heads are RL141353AC or higher (left side) and RL141352AD (right side)."
So, it seems the answer is YES.....time will tell.

Thanks for the info guys. I just today passed on a good deal on a left-over but new 2012 model Rubicon. Could have drove it home for $29,900.
I can't bring myself to pay $18,000+ for a TJ Rubicon in like new condition, but I completely understand why they are holding their value.
Looks like I'll be going with a '13 model.
I wish Ford made the Jeeps.

i know I contemplated also trading my 12 two door in since this engine issue for a 2013 four door -wife wants to have kids need more room. I am waiting for mine to get fixed then will make my decision, I agree with you on price, my 2 door was 28K most I ever spent on a car which I didn't mind because I knew it was reliable...well until this cylinder issue. Good luck, and hey if your really not in a rush rumor has it the 2015 refresh will bring a diesel...now that's bad-ass

I think if you could get a great deal on a 12 Rubi go for it. Chances are you won't have trouble and if you do it is a simple fix. It is just the cylinder head not brain surgery.
