Slamming Doors Shut
#11
A crack in the window makes them easier to shut, but a nice slam is easier than all of that. I don't seem to have to slam them as much anymore. I guess I got used to it and maybe I started using the old hold the handle untill all the way shut trick and didn't even know about it.

I like bitching at my passengers to shut their doors again.

I have a hard top. My driver side door always closes good. It seems my passenger side door is never closed (even if I close it). I've played with the alignment a little bit by taking the hinge off the outside of the door. I can't say that I've made any progress though. I'm gonna have the dealer look at it the next time I go in.
The back doors don't get used that much, but I don't recall having any problems with those doors.

Same here. When I was closing my doors like a "car" my Jeep mocked me. Now that I use proper form (essential for all sporting equipment), my doors close properly.

Anyone that has removed their spare tire knows that the vehicle is not air tight due to the vent with the rubber flaps behind it.
If you are having REAL problems closing the doors adjust the latches.
All vehicles have these vents or the heating/cooling system would not be able bring in outside air with such a small fan.
On cars they are usually hidden behind the rear bumper.

I did a quick experiment. I laid a sheet across the hardtop and down the passenger side, with only the rear passenger window open about 4 inches.
Then I opened the front driver's side door and closed it with normal force.
The force of the air coming out of the 4 inch opening was enough to blow the sheet right off the vehicle.
So yes, there are vents in the rear gate, but they aren't sufficient to handle all of the air pressure when a door is shut...
