Default Size of Unlimited trunk (Dog transport)

Hi forum members,

I am just about to buy an Unlimited Rubicon, however
my dealer has only 2 door model for show and Unlimited seems
to be beoynd his reach for some reason....

We have two quite big dogs (one 30 kg and other 40 kg) in family and we want to be able to carry them in Wrangler...any dog owners here?

My question is what are the measures of Unlimited trunk: Widht, Depht and Height. The cubic feet number which is awailable at manufacturers page, does not tell me the real size of the trunk..

I would be very pleased if someone could give me the measurements.....

Measured this on an '07 X, but cargo area should be the same:

Width between the wheelwells: 43.5"
Width between the hardtop windows: 61.5"
Height from the floor to the sport bar: 36"
Height from the floor to the hardtop ceiling: 42"
Depth from the rear door to the rear seats (seats up): 30"
Depth from the rear door to the center console (rear seats down): 66.5"

Hope that helps!

I have two 75lbs Boxers (not sure of the conversion) and they fit comfortable in my 07 2 dr X with the back seat folded up. If it is just you, one other person and the two dogs, you should have no problem, but, if you plan on bringing extra stuff, it will be limited to the rear seat footwells.

Yep, one of ours is male boxer too...boxers are so adorable dog´s! Thats why we defenately need 4d Unlimited.

According to measurements I should be able to accomodate two dogs
to the trunk....and leave the backseat for people..

By the way, I would get a cargo mat in the back, my dogs scratched up the cover to the little hidden space pretty bad. If you don't care about scratches, just toss them back there.

No joke. I am patiently awaiting a "full cargo" cover for when I lay the rear seats down. Hoping someone like Husky steps up to the plate. My boxer's nails are like talons.

The rear depth seems a little low. I know that I am able to lay a 35" tire down flat and still close the rear gate with both back seats in the upright position, so I figure it's at least 35" from the center of the gate to the back of the seats at the deck. Since the seats angel back just a bit I guess it could be 30 at the top of the tailgate...
