Thanks for the responses. I may just plan on the print-as-you-go method. I'll always have a laptop with me on trips, so that should get me by.
Given the choice of printing pages and having a printed document, I prefer printing the pages. Why? Because I can scribble notes on my printed pages, check off steps that were completed, and not worry about getting the pages all greasy and wrinkled, etc.

OTOH, I hear (but haven’t seen) that the printed version of the FSMs are better/more complete than the CD version. I’ve used the CD for a few minor changes to my Jeep and the instructions were good, but I can’t vouch for the entire manual. So far, if I had to do it again I would still just buy the CD.

That is like the NUMBER 1 reason I like getting all of my service manuals online.....

Chrysler is really starting to disappoint me.

If it is in XML then you should be able to use your web browser to open it and then have some search capability.

nope that type of search doesnt work.
  • doesnt work on IE7 (yet, that i know of but they may have fixed that)
  • unsearchable & overpriced by a LONG shot for what you get.
DC screwed the pooch on the manual. Bad. They really should be completely ashamed of themselves.

Hard to believe that you can't search, what were they thinking?

~beats me.

120 bucks for something barely more usable than a coffee coaster is utterly pathetic.

there are a LOT of old threads on this. I purchased one of these right when they came out, and sent the P.O.S. back almost immediately. WTF good is something that WONT run on IE7 going to do me, when IE6 is nearly phased out?

~retarded.

call techauthority and ask them if they fixed all the problems, if they where addressed, it would be a worthwhile investment.

So has anybody here looked at what is actually on the CD. Is it a bunch of XML files and GIFs?

If it is, I may be able to write something to view/search/print the stuff in my free time.

Well I guess the key there is "free time"
