Default Service Manual on CD - printing

Has anyone with the CD version of the service manual inquired at a printing place (like Kinko's) about the cost of giving you a print copy of it?

I was thinking for the $200 cost difference and search capability I would go with the CD version this time, but I also like to have a paper copy in the garage.

Thanks,
Mike

I currently don't have one for the JK, but for other equipment, I will normally just print the few pages that cover what I am working on at any given time. Sort of print as you go kinda deal.

You could also track down a VERY cheap obsolete laptop computer that has a CD drive. Someone might even GIVE such a beast to you. Then you'd have a shop/garage computer to view the manuals. My wife's old desktop running windows 98 works great in the garage for such things. . . .

mikejwil – I have the CD and as Keith615 suggested I print out the pages that I need when I need them.

BTW – there isn’t any search capability on the CD version.

No. It is not PDF. And I really wish it had a search function.

On the jeep.com web site. Click on "For Owners". There is a link in the middle of the page.

Like onjenx said, it's not PDF. It uses SVG Viewer that reads .xml and .gif files.

Man... no search function? That stinks...

Thanks for the responses. I may just plan on the print-as-you-go method. I'll always have a laptop with me on trips, so that should get me by.
