After getting stuck on a recent wheeling trip on the Platte River my '08 X was rather sandy and making some screetching sounds. I never had the front tires submerged more than 3/4 to their tops and same with the rears.

After a good wash out to remove the sand, the screeching stopped. However today (about 1 month later) I jumped in the Jeep to head to work, and as I took off, there was more screeching. Sounds like I have sand or debris somewhere but I can't pinpoint it. Any ideas?

Here are my potential trouble spot guesses....sand/debris in brakes; front hub(s) have sand/debris in them; sand/debris in the clutch/flywheel area; or (god forbid) the front pumpkin has sand and debris in it....

Any suggestions of where to look would be appreciated.

Prob sand or a rock between the rotor and the backing plate

 

That is my best guess from reading other posts about this problem...its getting pulled apart tonight after work so hopefully thats the case.
