Sahara wheel protection

Clearcoat is already damaged from factory, The dumb wheel weights clipped on the outside have damaged the clearcoat on the rims and salt water & grim will eventually get under the clear and flaking the clear away and once that is done...you may as well just use the rims for winters or get them powdercoated.

Wheel clearcoat is several mils (thousands of an inch) thick on the flat and curved surfaces of any painted surface, including your clearcoated wheels. BUT any area of the wheel that has a SHARP edge, such as the spoke openings and the lug nut holes the clearcoat will NOT adhere to the sharp opening edge with any depth. This is the weak point in your wheel clearcoat. Keeping the wheel washed and waxed is your only defense, road film is very corrosive on a wheel. Look at any corroded or weathered rim, the earliest and most damaged areas start at the sharp edges and work their corrosion inward under the thicker coating areas. Keep 'em CLEAN....
