Default Sahara wheel protection

Is there any product out there that should be used on the sahara wheels to protect them from salt used for winter roads?

You have rims made of aluminium. No problem with salt...

Tell that to my "Aluminum" Airplane. Aluminum will corrode every bit as much as steel will under the right circumstances. It corrodes differently but it does corrode. As mentioned a clear coat or wax will slow the process. Keeping them rinsed off with clean water will help too. Brake dust will "pit" aluminum wheels, again...keep em clean.

Do not use Simple Green on Aluminum, rather Simple Green Extreme (military had severe corrosion problems on Apache Helicopters due to Simple Green) if you use this. Some cleaners specifically state they are not safe on Aluminum so read the label.

From past experience, what kill's the Clearcoat is relocating the balance weight's. When you have tire's rotated - BEWARE!!

The best way to protect them is to keep em clean. Keep wax on them. I rotate them every 5K myself and give them a good bath and wax while they're off.

Exactly...remove the outside clip weights and go with the stick on weights that go on the inside....This will help somewhat with the clearcoat from being damaged.

I get sick of my aluminum rims crapping out from the salt and bromide they place on the roads here that I just stick with the stock wheels for winter and get some nice looking rims and tires for the summer.

Also, another option is to powder coat them a nice black????
