Depending on how deep it went into the metal you can get away with a little sand paper and touch it up with paint. They also sell stuff like rust bust I don't know how it works. But from what I see in your pictures it looks like nothing to really worry about.

Was looking more to protect it and not get it to progress more wasn't sure what products to use. At least make it look a little better than what it does. I will get underneath and see what else is going on over the weekend. .

Living in the rust belt I coat my underbelly with satin black spray paint yearly. Any name brand works, just make sure it clean before hand. It's a Jeep thing...

Rustoleum sells a product called Rust Reformer and it is what I use to spot fix rust spots on my frame. It's a spray and drys flat black so it blends in perfect. Cheap too.

The last time I went on "Rust Patrol" I used a couple of wire brushes for electric drills (cup and radial) to knock off what I could, washed the undercarriage with soapy water, and then Rustoleum semi-gloss black. One can of paint will cover a lot of territory; paint both axles, and it looks great when you're done!

every spring I sand my frame and then paint it with rustoleum so far its been working pretty good. living in the burbs of CHI TOWN we get a lot of salt in the winter. make sure you use a wire brush to get off as much rust as possible

I used a product called POR15 on my enclosed trailer frame and my motorhome frame. I applied this stuff approx. 6 years ago and both still look like freshly painted black steel. Just don't make the mistake I did, wash anything off of your skin before it dries.
