Rubicon Rock Rails... close to back tire?
Hey all
Was wondering if anyone noticed after lifting ~3.5-4 inch with 35's that the rear tire gets awful close to the rock rails. Seems like the stock rock rails extend back a bit further than typical toward the front of the rear tire.
Is that something others have seen and have they notice it effects their offroading?

It needs to go back far enough so that when you are sliding on something, that the tire is able to hit the rock (or whatever) before it crushes into the body. When you get bigger tires, just shorten it some.

If your lift includes control arms it should move the axle back into the proper position after the lift, avoiding contact with the rock rail.
But yes, many people trim the rail and pinch seam if contact is occurring.
