God i hope not it is already going to the shop to fix my ongoing hard top leak. The rubicon is completely stock except for a skyjacker steering stabilizer. I did fill the oil on level ground. my buddies garage. I have not lifted done anything much to it except drive it. Hopefully i didn't get screwed.

Here is a picture of the front. Hopefully that big 3 is no indication that it has
D30's in it.

Sorry the picture is so small. the site will not allow me to upload a bigger one.

That is a Dana 44. You have a drain plug. The Dana 30 does not have a drain plug.

So what would explain the fact that i was only able to put 32 oz in it on level ground and no more oil would fit in the casing. I did allow it to drain and the oil was warm. It was not even dripping when i put the drain plug back in. Also when i pulled the plugs on both the front and rear there was some real thick grease/something on the magnet. I know that the oil should have some silver shavings because of break in but this stuff was thick. I cleaned the magnet off and replaced it but kinda worried me.

WHEN YOU REFILL THE DIFFS MUST BE AT FULL DROP THAT IS WHEN THE TRUE AMOUNT WILL ENTER WHEN THEY ARE ON THE GROUND W/T TIRES IT IS AT AN ANGLE NOT ALLOWING YOU TO Fill it to the CORRECT AMOUNT

So how do i do that and how bad is it for me to be driving it with only enough oil in the front and rear that it comes out when on level ground.

No worries man, you still have the full amount in there, you just didn't get all of it out when you drained it.

Since i didn't get all of it out. Is that horrible, since Chrysler wants you to change it every 15000 anyways. I have never heard of this before. Every other vehicle i have owned i changed it at 70-90000. I do go off roading every once in a great while but never any high water. At least not yet.

Any thoughts on what that grease/crap on the end of the drain plug was besides a few shavings.

Thanks for the quick replies.
D44 in the pic.

They don't make those kind of mistakes at the factory. If you got a rubi, you got a D44.
