Had 30K on mine when I took them off. Still has about 75% tread left. Rotated them with the spare every 6K miles mostly highway driving.

What about Age of the tire ?

I saw, somewhere, that after 4 years you should change your tires - NO matter how much Rubber is left on them.

I got 55k miles out of my 08 stock rubi tires. They easily had another 10k left in them, but were starting to get noisy so I replaced them.

Six years has been deemed safe by consumer reports, assuming there isn't cracking on the sidewall.

The tire guy saying an OEM tire will not outlast a shelf tire is partially true. It depends if the tire was built to a spec for the OEM. There is usually a code in the sidewall. I dont remember all the codes but I know TPC is on of them, TPM might be another. And to complicate things more, just because it's an OEM spec tire doesn't mean they skimped on treadlife, it could have been another reason like tread style, sidewall type, load range etc. Your mileage will vary

I bought them from discount tires, and they weren't rubi take offs. When you guys say wear out does that mean penny trick wear out?

2007 stock rubi tires 38,000 on them and I have just a tad under half tread left. They will easily last me 2 more years.
