Rough Downshift to 1st?
Hey everyone, I've done some searching and I'm wondering if it's anything to worry about. My 2008 JKU auto sometimes downshifts hard when going into 1st while coming to a stop. When I bought it in November they had just done a trans flush and I read it can take a while for everything to settle with the new fluid but it hasn't after 1,000 miles.
Should I be concerned?

Is the Jeep programmed for the tire size that is on your Jeep? Not sure if that matters, but that thought came to my mind. How to tell? Go on highway and use gps to check actual speed against speedometer.

Actually, my cluster isn't a 100mph unit, it's a 120mph cluster that's way off. It's only accurate when I'm doing 55mph, otherwise it's showing extremely fast or extremely slow. I never thought about this having any effect on the transmission before. This JKU was converted from Canadian to US. I might have to ask a Jeep dealer about that. Tires are 275/65R18 so the overall diameter is the same as stock 255/70R18.

Just a little update...
I've noticed three things. First is that the battery disconnect as helped. Secondly, it only does/did it if O/D was on and it engaged overdrive while driving it. Third, it stops once it's been driven for a while so I wonder if it's a combination of the cold weather, fluid change and the torque converter. Who knows, I'm just gonna drive it.
