Default Rookie Soft Top question

So I have just stored my Hard Top and installed my soft top for the summer. I am a tad concerned with the railing on the passenger side of my Jeep. The driver's side looks good as the roof drain rail of the soft top is uniformed. However on the passanger side, there is an enven hump between the front and rear door. This is the 1/2" plastic tab that does not allow the rail to sit level like the driver's side. They both stick into the door frame rail the same amount.

Now, I have had the top on for just a few days and it may need to settle or stretch. Is this normal for the top be uneven as from the front to back along this region?

Thanks

i just put my soft top back on for the season too, and it was TIGHT!!! TIGHT!!! TIGHT!!!! i couldn't beleive how much it shrunk just from sitting around for the winter. So part of it may be it just needs to settle, another part may be that you just need to fold it up and down a few times for it to stretch to the right fit. And lastly, its hard to say without pics, but it sounds like an issue i used to have. Look inside the jepe, there is a soft top supporting bow above the roll bar between the front and rear doors. that bow is made to lift up off the rest of the frame work for when you're using the sunrider option. It has horse shoe shaped tabs on either end to slip over the other framework. Make sure both ends are popped down into place. Mine has a tendancy of one side always sticking up till i pop it into place. It should make more sense when you look at it. Otherwise, post up some pics and we'll let you know what we think

I will get some better pics as the ones I took this morning were not good at all. I did make sure the sunrider supporting bows (horseshoes) are snapped on the other tubes when the top is completely closed. It's noth that I do not have enough slack to pull it down to the channel, it is just that it does not stay there.

I really believe that it is installed correctly and needs to settle. But I want the confidence that I did it correctly as well. I will post better pics this afternoon.

Look under the service updates. There was one that recommended removing a set section of the rail to allow it to seat better. Good luck!

Sometimes I have to lift up slightly on the door rails, right at the b-pillar for that tab to snap into place.

I am starting to think this is normal as I folded the top back today to the sund rider position; when I closed it, both sides look the same now.

Here are the pictures from both sides:

You have the same issue that I did, lift up a little on the door frame, and the tabs will pop under at the B-pillar

Make sure that the bar holding up the soft top accross the jeep at that spot is resting on top of the perpendicular bar at either side. On mine, somtimes one end wants to go under the perpendicular bar. This will give the same look as the posted pictures above.

I have the cross bow snapped on both sides of the Jeep and I lifted up on the door frame and it was no better. I can get the small tab to go in to the rail but there is nothing to retain it there.

Am I still doing something wrong? Did I get the door frame tightened down too much?

Mine has always looked like that. I think it's normal, It doesn't seem to have any negative impact on anything. There are no leaks and no funny wind noises comming from there.

I wouldn't worry about it, it's a Jeep thing!
