Use a hairdryer, or a heat gun on low heat... Get started on a corner of the decal with your nail or whatever, then warm the decal as you pull...

Clean up any residue with some Goo Gone or something like that...

Someone told me you could use rubbing alcohol to get the decals off. Does this work? Does it have any negative side effects?

I just peeled it off in the sunlight. Then i used a lil WD 40 on a rag to get the residue off. Then used a lil soap to get the wd40 off. Didn't take very long.

I find oily stuff works best on sticky stuff.

Working in the medical field, people always had band-aids and tape from IVs and blood draws and such. I told my patients to use cooking oil to remove that black sticky crap from the spot. It works really well.

I don't know how alcohol would work on the Jeep body, but all it does on skin is dry the crap out of it... it didn't do much for the goo.

I used my fingernail to lift the end, then pulled a bit. Once I had the corner off, I used a spray bottle of liquid soap and water, and gently continued pulling. The entire decal came off.
Then I used a claybar with mequire's quick detail to clean the residue off. This was in July and it was pretty warm outside.
