Default Removing Hardtop

I want to remove the softtop from my jeep, do I need to remove the hardtop to do so??

Also do I need to remove the two front panels first to remove the big back section of the hardtop??

What tools do I need to do it, also has anyone bought and used thos wing nuts of ebay that allow you to remove and secure the softtop and hardtop without tools.

thanks

as far as I know you do have to remove the hardtop to get the soft top off.

not sure about removing the front panels first. good question.

It's surprisingly easy (I did it). You need at least one-more person to help guide the hard top on and off as it can scratch the paint if not guided right.

I took my soft top off, while my hard top was off, came off very easy, I wouldn't think you need to take off the hard top to get the soft top completely out, but my guess is it would be a tight squeeze.. Definetly have to take the front pieces off first before taking the back piece off; because the front pieces over lap the back part.
