Default Rear seat release cables?

2010 Wrangler Sport.

Bought it about a month ago. Not my first jeep. Had a 2000 sport several years ago.

Rear seat will fold but not tumble. (I know how they are supposed to work.)

Did not know that it was broken when I bought it.

Researched the heck out of it online for days.

Took it to the dealership where I bought it this morning, they told me both cables were broken and it would be $ 391.00 to fix it.

Not gonna happen.

Service Magager was in a meeting but I have emailed her and am waiting to hear back from her as to weather or not they will wave this.

All that being said, I have found the part on line for around $65.00.

Has anybody ever had to replace this on their own?

I have seen some threads on this topic but none that give detailed instructions on how to replace the old, broken cables.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

The tumble is caused by a set of 2 springs (1 on each side of the seat). If it doesn't tumble forward, chances are that either 1 or both of the springs have snapped.
