Someone has done a right up on it here. It looks like you'll need a flathead screwdriver. It definitely DOES NOT pop right off. Kinda weird that it's different between the models. I guess they're trying to accomodate for the way the rear seats fold down in the unlimited. Hope this helps!

pop the springs off and flop them down permanently I ca still latch mine in the up position if I have passengers. Then briefly fold the seat to flop the headrests to the down position again.. Major improvement in rear visibility...

 

I agree. Those rear headrests in my 2 door just had to go....in fact I ended up taking the whole rear seat out. The trunk space is nice as it is mostly just my girlfriend and I anyway. And now I have a very low and cozy loveseat for my living room

 

I did the same thing with my TJ back seat. Although it was after I bought the Wet Okole seat covers for all the seats. If I had known that I was going to do that I wouldn't have bought one for the back seat.

Hey now whats wrong with those items? Functional and comfortable. lol. I actually had the rear TJ seat downstairs in the game room.

I had a buddy that had a wooden cable spool for a coffee table. He was in a bind and had to get a place quick. I think it was already there when he moved in. LOL

 

My backseat is a nice little futon in front of the tv in my room. I think i threw out the headrests those things are as hard as rocks anyways

 

Where I got my coffee table is between me and that Nissan Altima that used to be parked in my space. Haters! The lot of ya!

 

They are a pain in the butt to remove. I am using a couple of bungee cords to hold the headrests back, as if the seat was folded down. It's hokey but it works.
