I fixed the squeak on the 2012 JKU rear headrest... Here is what you do.

Release the seat like your going to fold it forward so the headrest is moveable.
Unclip plastic retainer for fabric be careful not to tear the seams.

Push the spring loaded bars in and slide the headrest off the bars.

Spray wd40 down the tubes.

It looks like there is a rivet at the top of one of the tubes that rubs on the top of the bar that causes the squeak.

Important... Reattach the plastic clips at the base of headrest that hold the fabric together BEFORE sliding the headrest back on the bars.
Just push down on headrest til you hear both sides click and your done.

Tested and squeak is gone.
Takes less than 5 minutes.
Difficulty rating 1/2 wrench. Lol

Edit sorry for some out of order pics but you get the jist.

The 2012 unlimited rear headrests just slide out? They aren't bolted to the seat like in my 08?

The headrest foam and fabric part slides off on the 2012 but the bars remain attached to the seat.

I fixed mine this weekend using this write up and you were spot on. So far my squeek is gone. It was coming from the metal groove on the headrest bars and where the metal connector on the headrest attach. I put some grease on the spots and its nice and quiet now. Thanks for the write up and pictures I appreciate it!
