Default Rear door won't come off!! Help!

Okay so I got the hardtop off today. Decided to go doorless and topless before I put the softtop back on. Took off the front doors....fine...went to take off the backs...they won't budge. And yes...the hex bolts were removed from the hinges. I sorta gave it some love with a rubber mallet, but you can only do so much hammering before you get scared for our ultra thin sheet metal.

Any ideas? What tricks worked for you. I had them off last summer. It's been about 9 months with them on. I have my Die-tech mirror brackets installed and really wanna cruise completely doorless soon.

Have you tried WD-40?

Swing the door open and closed as you pull up on it, it will come off....then lube the pins with WD-40 or such....

You'll just have to pull up harder as you move the door back and forth. Then clean the hinges once you get it off.

all of the above. Just gotta wiggle. I used to put a lil (TINY) bit of grease on the hinge pins of my CJ7 before I would install the doors. My JK hasn't had the need just yet, but it works.

No luck so far. All out of WD-40 though. I will pick some up tomorrow and give it another shot. Thanks for the help guys. I guess I could always take it to the dealer and give them a shot, but I really hate my dealer.

X2 definitely start with a little WD-40. let it sit for a while then it should come off easily.

one of my doors was a bear. WD-40 loosened it right up. Then I put white lithium grease on the pin before re-attaching the door.

good luck.

I'd add CUSS and SCREAM, also, since you can't get adrenaline in a can
