Default Rear breaks gone.... Already!?!?!?

O I've had my JK for about 4 1/2 years. I had to replace the rear breaks at 12,000 miles about a year after I got it. The dealership told me they wouldn't cover them under warrantee because they were considered a consumable. Okay fine... They are cheap enough and the aftermarket ones you get have a lifetime warrantee. But now I'm at almost 60,000 and they are gone once again! The front breaks are still at like 50%. I've never had to replace REAR breaks before 100,000+. What's the deal? Is anyone else having this issue?

replaced mine once and changed to EBC greenstuff. at 87K now and still have good pads. front stockers were fine, but changed them anyway. I downshift a lot to avoid wearing the pads.

Bunch of threads on this, is a known issue with the JK. I'm not sure I have read any thread with a satisfactory explanation on why.

From what I have read it is caused by excessive ESP activation.

It can't be the ESP because I disable that 3 years ago when I changed the breaks for the first time (I live in the mtns and it would go off all the time... Even around corners going BELOW the speed limit.)

they are so easy to change, why worry about it.
it took me a hour to do my rears and I even took a break between sides.

I got the ceramics for like 59 bucks at auto zone.

I think even with the ESP off the brake lock differential is still working, so the pads will activate while you're wheeling to force the wheel with some traction to turn.

Rear brake pads are half the size of the fronts.
Traction control and brake lock diff
Wheelin in sand, mud speed up pad wear as well.

The thing that happens much more often than any ESP/traction control related occurrence is normal braking.
Newer vehicles' ABS systems are programmed to provide more rear brake pressure during normal braking than in years past.
"Premature" rear brake pad wear isn't just a JK thing. Lots of newer vehicles are seeing the same thing.

I had to change out the rear pads at about 33 or 34k. I was actually suprised they lasted as long as the did on my rig, when I say how freakin tiny they were.
