Default Rattle when braking??

Need a little help here. I replaced the front brake pads this past weekend. The passenger side upper caliper guide pin was seized, so I used a little heat to get it out. After I let it cool down, I found a spare pin (turns out it was a bit shorted though). I re-assembled everything, tightened all the bolts, did the driver side pads (no problem there), and took it for a test drive. Everything seemed fine. A couple days later (now) when I apply the brakes I hear either a scraping or rattling noise from the front. I got under the front end yesterday, shook a few things with my hands and couldn't feel or see anything loose. All the anti-rattle clips are in place. Could the different size caliper guide pin cause this? Does anyone have any other suggestions?
I plan on jacking it up again tomorrow to take the wheels off and get a better look, but right now am kinda scratching my head https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/imag...s/thinking.gif

UPDATE
So, this morning i took it all apart again to have a look. While there I replaced the incorrect caliper guide pins with the correct ones, and also replaced both front rotors. When I put it all together I made sure that all the bolts were tight. Took it for a test drive. No noise when driving, scraping noise when the brakes are lightly applied, no noise when brake pedal pressed hard.
Baffled! I called a Jeep specialist garage and they mentioned that it could be as simple as the dust shield getting caught on something when the brakes are applied. I'll check that out tomorrow, but does anyone have any other thoughts?

90 views ! Cool, anyways just to provide another update. I took the front passenger side tire off again this morning to look at the brake dust shield to see if it might be contacting something. It wasn't. I looked at the caliper and it was moving just fine, not seized. I looked at the anti-rattle clips and they were secure. I took out those new brake pads and re-installed the old ones (thankfully I kept them). Test drive - no sound. Drove to work on the highway - still no sounds!! When I looked at the brakes pads I did notice 2 grooves on the inner pad. These new pads are "OE Spec" by Wagner. The old ones were the Thermo-Quiet ones. Maybe, a bad set? Will be buying another set of brake shoes tomorrow to replace the front ones and will make sure they are the thermo-quiet ones. The rotor was brand new, nothing visible to cause the two grooves. We'll see.....................

Default always good to hear what can malfunction

and its cause . Thanks for your share hope you find the issue that scored the pad . Maybe just a tiny stone
brakes can suck on any vehicle cuz the tires have to come off each time in between trouble shoots

I hate to bring this topic back to life, but here we go again.
So, after replacing all the front brake pads and rotors, this noise is back. When braking, and the pedal is lightly touched (to slow down) the sound is as if it is a warped rotor (pulsing scraping noise) but when applying more pressure, noise goes away. No noise when driving or turning.
Off to the mechanic shop tomorrow because I cannot think of anything else that it could be.

I had the same noise on the left rear. I installed new brake pads, rotors and hardware and it was still there. I finally checked the run-out and the axle was bent. I installed Ten Factory axle shafts and it's all good now.

Wow. Bent axle. I don't do any offloading so I can't see it getting bent as a daily driver but maybe....

Just noticed you said it's the front making the noise. Mine was from the rear brake. Did you replace the clip in slides that the tabs of the brake shoes ride in? I had a friends JK that was making brake noise and the new clips fixed it. The kit with the clips was around $10.

Didn't have a chance to get to the mechanic this morning. Keg fridge ran out of CO2 . When driving around though, the sound I hear kinda reminds me of playing cards hitting the spokes of a bike wheel.

My experience with rattling brakes after pad change was rectified with grease on the back of the pad. You can also find on the market CRC Brake Quiet spray. I just used EP2 and made sure it couldn't get on the the front of the pad (friction side), no rattle now for several hundred miles.
