Interesting.
I have a '10 and tried to find a squeak coming from the tailgate area all winter. I did everything I could think of, tighten suspension bolts, grease coil spring contact points top and bottom, tape door strikers, etc., but I didn't think of that little piece until I noticed a bit of rust on the top of the part it contacts on the door jam, which is plastic. Rust = metal contact and movement, so I put a dab of grease on that area and the squeak stopped. Finally. Only 6 months of enduring it. It probably still rattles, but so does all the junk in my trail box so I don't notice that.
