Rattle in door pillar
#331
Woo hoo, been wondering what that noise was, and was hoping to ask the group. Just found the thread so I guess y'all beat me to it. Going to apply electrical tape fix short-term, and replacement part long-term.
Even my wife noticed it ("What was that? It sounded like something just fell off")
Thanks, Forum!

I've had the same piece of tape on mine for almost 3 years.

I took mine today to the dealership.. they said the noise is coming from the window lift plate... they are going to lubricate it and see if it takes care of the thump noise... they mentioned that there's a bulletin about it too..

You can go to the dealer, you can try the grease but the tape works. I change mine out about every 6 months, whether I need it or not and I don't get the rattle anymore. You don't notice and it doesn't get on your clothes. It takes about 2 minutes to do and you don't have to buy anything, unless you don't have electrical tape laying around. My suggestion before you go to the dealership, and spend all that time, throw on the tape, if it is the problem, it will be fixed, if it is not the problem and something else is making the noise, then take the more extreme measures. The tape will save you time and headache.
