There is a TSB for the rattle in the door pillar.....the dealer will apply a special grease and problem solved......it comes back but they jsut have to re-apply the grease. Lasts about a yr.

UPDATE: The rattle that was next to my left ear every time I hit a bump is now gone. Thanks to the electrical-tape-on-the-striker fix.

And it only takes about 3 inches of tape. I stretched mine a little bit as I was wrapping so it fit properly (unstretched it is a tight fit). It is also unnecessary to wrap the entire striker. Like has been said, you only need to wrap the side that is facing you when you open the door.

the guy who always works on my jeep at the dealer solved that for me, he noticed it while taking it on a test drive for clunky steering, and put some electrical tape behind the panel for me to get rid of the clunk..guy is the man, its nice to have someone like that at a dealership!

Electrical tape fixed mine this weekend. Took longer to get the tape and scissors (I wanted a nice straight clean cut), than it did to do it. No clunks in my ear anymore.
I wonder, might be in here or in one of the other threads, but if you take the hinge bolts out to remove the doors and don't install them back, if that allows just enough movement for the doors to make the noise?
If so, if not, doesn't matter, I'm leaving the bolts out, it is quicker, easier than putting the bolts in and seeing if that is or is not the case.

Once again
OK I've had the driver side door latch greased by the dealer and the problem was still there. I then took it in and had the latch replaced and the problem went away. Now it's been about six months and the clunking noise is back on the driver side. Has anyone else had the same problem with a replacement latch?
