The tool-handle dip was what I was thinking of - we'll see how it turns out.

I put plastic electrical tape on all the strikers back on June 8th. The doors are still quiet.

After reading through this thread, I see some have a rattle and some have a thunk. I had a rattle high in the B pillar that I narrowed down to the zipper pulls from the rollbar padding. The noise was coming from both sides. I simply tucked the ends back under the padding to hold them tight and now all is quite for the most part. (Usual soft top noises) I haven't had the thunk yet. Don't know if this will help any rattlers out there but might be worth looking at.

I put some of the shiny silver duct tape on each latch and the noise has been gone for about a month now.

Well I have not had the door rattle yet but i did have the back ratttle. the fix is funny. Below the door latch on the jeep there is a black bracket that acts as a guide for the door. i think the rattle comes from fricton on that peice. I Greassed it with some Vasiline and have not heard the rattle since.

Default No new latch for '07 !!!!

WARNING!!!
For everyone with an '07 there is NO UPDATED DOOR LATCH to solve your clunking door problem. My dealer finally installed the "updated latches" after trying everything else and several unsatisfying visits. I supplied the part #s that are posted in many threads here and they ordered and installed them without double-checking with Chrysler. These latches only work on '08's. If installed on an '07 the power locks will not work. Chrysler sent a notice to dealers instructing them not to install the latches in '07's due to the incompatibility.

If you have an '07 get some electrical tape. Chrysler has not acknowledged the problem even though there are thousands of us with a clunk in our ear every time we hit a bump.
