amen to that...my Dad says you don't need a good tire I say different lol. I think either the BFG or Dura will work...

I hope it's only going to be a 200 diff, that will make the choice easy!

guys I keep asking this q on here: are the Duratrac's considered an all season or winter only? If Winter only, my choice is easier now...

called one of our goodyear dealers here and quoted $1,400 for a set of 4 after tax! He says the 275/65/18's would work so you guys are right LOL...

That's what I paid for all 5 of my BFGs. Buying Michelin made BFGoodrich tires is not cheaping out by any means. You should certainly buy what you want and budget affords, I believe you will be happy with either choice.

If it's a toss up; you could get the BFGs and spend the $300 you save on............anything you want.

paying local shop to put new tires on old wheel ~60
total price $260

So new wheels end up costing only $240 more- seemed like a no-brainer to me.

BTW I went with 305/70's with 16" wheels that have 4.75" backspacing. My Jeep came with 17" wheels, but going to 16" saved me $200.

Thanks, I to want to use the stock rims and was thinking this route. Just not sure what it would look like from the side. I will be going with the GY Duratrac, Nitto Terra Grapplers or BFG KO in the 275/65/18's.

Cheers

Duratracs are all season tires, I was saying that if the duratracs are only $200 more than the BFs than I'd go with them just based on preference.

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with bfg, just there are many factors to consider when buying a tire. You have to look at what your needs are, don't just buy a tire because of price.
