Question regarding tires on my JK..
Hey Guys
Haven't been here in a while, been busy with family and of course it's Winter and want to drop the top and doors already...
Question is that I will likely need tires this year and have seen some Jeep's with the Goodyear Duratrac's on them. These look pretty cool and thinking about them for mine possibly. I see they come in 18's for me, but the exact same size as my stock BF'S are not available.
I have 255/70/18's-----Closest Duratrac's...275/70/18's...Would these fit, with no rubbing?
Anybody using these on their babies? Can it work as an all Season/Winter?
Cheers

I have 275/65/18 with no issues. These are the exact same height as the stock 255/70/18s at 32.1". They are just wide enough to look like what should have come on our Jeeps from the factory and still allow full steering without spacers. BFG Rugged Terrains. Killer DD!

I have that exact size and tire. Duratrac 275/70R18
They will rub slightly on stock wheels. I used a RC 1.5" spacer and now there is 0 issues lock to lock and look better all around.

Do you ride yours off road only, or all year round?

spacers
There are 2 types of spacers. slide ons and bolt ons. the slide ons are basically a chunck of metal that pinch between the rim and the axle. They are fine for daily driving, but I would never trust them off road as they move all the stress to the end of the lugs. The other bolts on using your studs and supplied lugs., then you bolt the rims to the spacers with your lugs. This is good for mild off roading. I am sure there are some that would say they havent had problems with the sliders. But I am not willing to take the chance. If you are launching your
rig off the dunes I would skip both all together. I am going to get dedicated steel rims with m/t for my trips, But I will probably keep my stock alloy wheels with bfg a/t and spacers for urban assault. My 03 was a daily driver and thats the set up I had before.makes for a good peace of mind set up. and you can bend steel back in place.

hard to say
This is a link to tire calculator. I think they will be 33" whichgets close. So no one can say for sure. you can have them put the tires on and run them. if it rubs then you could have them throw on a set for you.

thanks, makes sense...I have 3 kids so no off roading for Mike, lol....do I actually need to put some type of spacer/slider on my stock wheels? I love the look and review of this tire but of coursethey don't come in stock size...I am sure I could buy them and have my Jeep guy here install the sliders if needed.
