Question about tire rotation
I read somewhere that if you rotate 5 tires instead of 4 you can get considerably more wear out of a set. Does anyone know what pattern or which go where when rotating like that? And how to keep up with it?

uhh...
rotate them in a circle? LOL who knows
either way you will have to buy the same ammount of tires i think...because then you will be weraring out your spare,so you have to buy a new one, where as if you dont do the 5 tire thing, there is no need to buy another spare...just IMHO

I haven't rotated yet but this is how I will be doing it (may be cryptic but I understand it LOL),
Ok, so here is a top down look of the tire layout:
(FD) - - - - - (FP)
(RD) - (SP) - (RP)
FD = Front Driver
FP = Front Passenger
RD = Rear Driver
RP = Rear Passenger
SP = Spare
I will rotate them in this way,
1) SP -> RP
2) RP -> FP
3) FP -> RD
4) RD -> FD
5) FD -> SP
You will end up with the tires in this pattern when done,
(RD) - - - - - (RP)
(FP) - (FD) - (SP)
This will make sure the spare is always included in the mix and you still adhere to the common rear to front and cross front to rear rotation. Plus, you don't need to jack up the whole Jeep, just one tire at a time

I'm sure there is no exact correct way, just so you do the same rotation each time. They way I read is the rear tires criss cross to the fronts, and the fronts drop straight back to the rears. If you put the spare in the mix, you put it on the passenger rear and the passenger front goes to the spare.

Ditto. This is what i just did with mine. If they make it through their lifecycle before i toss them out, i'll let you know how they wore.
Ok, i think i put the front driverside on the spare, and the sapre on the rear passenger. Like was mentioned earlier, but i am confusedish. Friday, cant think to hard.
