Purolator PureOne oil filter O-Ring issue
Has anyone using Purolator PureOne oil filter experienced an issue with an O-Ring? I noticed this at my last oil change with OCI 5,815 miles.
It appears the o-ring is made of Nitrile rubber with a coat of Silicone rubber. Because Nitrile rubber, which costs 1/3 of the silicone rubber tends to harden at higher temperatures the two materials o-ring is constructed of begin to separate with time leaving residue of flaked off Silicone rubber requiring cleaning.
