Pulling Horse Trailer
Anyone pulling a horse trailer with a Unlimited X? The specs say 3500 lbs with the auto tranny, but my dealer keeps telling me 5000 lbs because of the heavy red shocks.
My daughter is riding and we're thinking of buying a horse. The trailer and 2 horses weigh in about 3500 lbs, maybe a little more. Just want to know if anyone does it, and what setup they are using.

the tow rating is 3500 lbs for an unlimited of any badging (x, mtn, shra, rubi) and 2000 lbs for any 2dr.
I know guys here have towed more than the limit, but if you do you probably won't be covered by insurance if something happens and I know horses ain't cheap.

Holy Crap a horse trailer!!.... A two horse trailer with 2 horses (+1000lbs/horse) you are looking at probably look at over 5000lbs and add a few more lbs for tack & gear... I would not even consider pulling a horse trailer with anything less than a 1/2 truck gasser. You will need electric brake controler, swaybars and never mind the horses moving around while traveling it would get ugly fast with a JKU!
