puddle + stall = super weak sauce...

Sorry for the multiple posts. What REALLY grinds my gears here is that this appears to be an inconsistent problem. Some of the posters sympathize and relate with similar issues, and others aren't quite getting the problem (probably because it seems so outlandish). There was the one video of the 'drown jk' that was posted in this thread, yet youtube is FULL of other jk's absolutely pounding other deep water crossings. WTF??

I then went through the water and then it bogged down so I gave it more power and it slowly crept out of the water and then died. I tried to turn it back over and it wouldn't go. Cut it off, took the key out and opened the hood to make sure there wasn't any water anywhere where there shouldn't be. There was splashes of water all over but nothing that was any more to be expected after a day of wheeling where there was plenty of water. Even opened up the air box to find that the hole in the bottom had let 1 drop and by drop I mean smaller than the size of a pea inside the bottom of the box (looking at the filter today it looks like there was a drop the same size that hit it but thats all). After getting back in the Jeep it turned right over. I left it idling for a couple minutes while me and the 2 guys I was with looked it over to find nothing wrong (both of them went through the puddle harder than I had). It sat there idling and would have spurts of a rough idle but then go right back to being fine. We then headed off the trail and it went back to being completely fine after that.
Drove it back home 5+ hours without an issue. Looked over it today and everything seems fine. Read on here how people clean their engine bays (let engine run to get hot and leave running while spraying down with hose) and yet I go through a water crossing and it stalls. I have found on other forums that a few guys have had this issue and it has been because of a faulty fuel pump. To me this explains part of my issue, the getting it wet and it has an issue which causes the stall but then while it is still wet is causes a rough idle. Doesn't cause the beginning of my issue though. I also seem to have the water sound issue behind the dash. Overall I am not too happy so far with my 2013. I never had an issue with my 2011 and it went through puddles higher than this one and drove up creeks without a problem.
