Default Power windows/lock worth the risk?

I want power windows/locks but have read of failures with window motors that, of course, are very costly if you're out of warranty.

You guys and gals ever had problems and how much was the repair/replacement?

08 Sahara... 3 years later no problems. Only thing was the tiny bulbs in the switches went out so it's harder to find them in the dark... but never bothered me.

Go with the manual windows/door locks! It makes it feel more like a jeep, and is cheaper/easier to fix!!

Power windows rule for being able to drive and lower all your glass to get that great outdoor feeling. The only time it can give you an issue is freezing rain. It's a bummer when you try to roll down your window and it is frozen shut.

Love my power windows and locks. A must have on a 4door since you aren't going to climb in back to put the windows down. Definitely must have with kids in back.
2008 with 50,000 miles and have had it in water halfway up the doors with no issues.

Have em' also and love them. If you do lose one, they are not that expensive to change out the regulators. I have had to do that a couple times on my Grand Cherokee. You can get them on the net for about $45.

I had a gremlin with my rears, they were stuck in the up position for a day or so. Came out next day. Working again. never tracked it down, never happened again. was within the 1st year on my 09 X.
I drive through a security gate daily if not more often, The auto quick down feature is hard to beat. IT also saves time 'putting the top down' since you don't have to go door to door cranking. Also handy when the rains comes on out of nowhere.
