Default ...cost?

I just had the same "eureka" moment about why my acc plug wasn't working. An inverter [must have] blown mine out a while ago, and now i'm looking at replacing the fuse. Sorry for the n00b question, but how much do those fuses go for?

just head to autozone and pick up the fuze kit wich comes with 5 of each fuse and a tester (alto the testor prongs wont fit in the cramped fusebox to test)

Over fuzing can get dangerous. Yes it will prevent it from blowing but there is a reason why it is designed to blow.

if you want your jeep to potentially burn down or incur damage to the wiring...

fuses are sized so that if more current than the wiring can handle is pulled through a circuit it kills the fuse... if you overfuse you run the risk that pulling too much current.. (more than the wires can handle.. less than the fuse rating) a fire could start or wiring harness damaged.....

if Inverters have a lot of inrush current on startup you can look into "slow blow" fuses which will allow short time periods of a certain amount of over-current before blowing...

thus if your device has hig hstart current but pull within-range after start you dont blow the fuse..
