Update : My check engine light came back in 200 miles after dealer reset/flash. They took the Jeep in and replaced the head in about 5 days. They said it was a misfire do to a sticking valve.

No more engine light but it ticks more than before. Weird.

Ninja...Which head was it and what is the part number on your invoice? AA or AB?

Hmmm...that is weird. The few owners that have gotten back to me after replacement said the tick was gone. What was the dealer's response? How's your MPG and power?

I haven't told the dealer about the ticking. There's no engine light. Averaging 17.5mpg with city driving and 75 on Highway. Plenty of power so I'm not worried about it. I just remember how quiet it was the first 3000 miles.

My stomache just dropped when you said that. Mine's at 1800 on the odometer now. I love how the engine has a beautiful humm. It has a build date of May '12. If that humm develops a tick, I'm gonna go out fightin'.

Yeah, it was remarkably quiet until 3000 then first engine light at 12,230miles,then 12,560miles. And now noisier!

Edit- build date Dec 11

Well, I'm not as mechanically inclined as the guys on this thread, but considering the other head installations, it really seems that something may have gone wrong with your installation. I really am sorry to say that; I know that's the last thing you want to hear.

As far as I'm concerned, it's strike 1. I'm not worried, yet.
