What's the build date on your JK? Mine is a 5-12 build date and it's running great. What makes you think Jeep has not solved the problem with the later build dates?

That forum is one of the best most informative forums I have ever been on and busy too. BUT Patriot and Compass have competed against each other for a few years now and there will be no 13 Patriot or Compass built in USA as the current version is. But rather production for a 2014 Patriot Compass replacement will be built in Italy.

Where is the Dakota truck? 11 it went away and as I have heard no 13 replacement as promised. Liberty redesign skips to 2014 and again where will it be built??? I have heard that the WK2 Grand Cherokee is indeed the redesigned Liberty as Jeep will introduce a higher priced SUV (Grand Wagoneer) which will borrow the Durango longer body thus pushing the Grand Cherokee into the spot the liberty now occupies. But again Chrysler is so sneaky you just dont know.

I know this has little to do with this thread topic but it boils down to one word TRICKERY. This company has used "marketing" as an excuse to keep secrets. I know people who want Challengers so bad but refuse to buy because of speculated colors of next year which will never come to fruition. Stupid be honest with your customers. IF your having head problems say hey we re having head problems. instead of this deer in the headlights glare like........."huh"

There are lots and lots of foreign car makers with factories in the USA as I mentioned Kia and Toyota but those are not American companies because they are owned primarily by entities in other countries. Chrysler LLC is owned by FIAT. Hell, I know I m wrong but the last time I saw a FIAT in America was on the screen in 1984 European Vacation ... and even it got stuck in a tunnel.... I see them J Lo commercials and think is anyone really buying those ugly little straight drives?? It's like a Mini Cooper with no lol style....

I hate to say it but I really wish Chrysler would sell the Jeep brand to Ford. Let them concentrate on their v8 Hemis with $4 a gallon gas and driving away what few loyal customers they have left.

I m not posting on this thread again until my head blows. It just upsets me

um... and why do you think they didn't?
I'm sure that Jeep doesn't want a bad reputation or continue to lose money on an ongoing expensive warranty issue.

So far...so good with mine. It's a great truck and I highly recommend it. My JK12 replaced my YJ93 and the JK is light years better!

I'd even wait until enough 2012 models are proven to 50-60K before getting a 2013. A lot can start showing up in year 2 as the new engines start racking up miles, including failures of the redesigned heads.

And – If I had a 2012 and got a head replaced with the original design, I'd think it was a matter of time before one or both went again. If I got one of the redesigned heads, I'd want the other head replaced, too. WTF is up with having one redesigned head and one (shall we dare say) defective/weak/flaky/time-bomb one? No way I'd buy a 2012 unless I knew both heads had been replaced with the redesigned ones.

Why would the issue evolve over time and mileage? If it's a bad head - wouldn't it show up immediately? Either it works or it doesn't - right? What is wrong with the design anyway? Can you tell if you have a redesigned head by looking at the outside of the engine?

Regardless of the issues with the 3.6, I'm still pleased with my 12 over my 11. The 3.6 was a much-needed upgrade for those of us that actually drive on the highway and might want to use the passing lane from time to time or drive in an area that isn't flat as a board (both of these are true for me).

I don't expect perfection from Chrysler/Jeep/Fiat -- I do, however, expect them to stand behind their product. If my motor develops the dreaded "tick", well, that's what warranties are for. If they try to screw me, it'll be torches, pitchforks, and lawyers.
